Part 1: Berlin Brigade | From Ferguson to Berlin
A former European Stars and Stripes reporter focuses on the period in 1989 when the Berlin Wall came crumbling down, and examines what it all meant to him some 30 years later. He retraces the weird and bizarre events surrounding the infamous barrier that stood as a symbol of the Cold War for more than 28 years.
In part 1 of 2, this film examines the Americans’ military role in protecting West Berlin. In these segments, the film examines what it was like to serve in Berlin within 500 yards of the enemy. It also looks at how a young writer from the Midwest ended up being “the luckiest sonofabitch in the US Army.”

Part 2: The Ossis Life | November the 9th
In part 2 of 2, the film examines the Americans’ military role in protecting West Berlin, what it was life was like for East Germans, the Ossis, leading up to November 9, 1989. The documentary film also celebrates German Reunification with the memories of those who were there to witness what ABC News called, “An Astonishing Moment in History.”
