Once when we were training in the Grunewald one of the 151 jeeps were needed for something but the trailer needed to be left behind. I was given the privilege to guard it. That was early in the day.
Night came and it got cold and dark. The trailer was full of stuff but nothing to keep warm. All I had was some water. I got under the trailer to keep dry from the dew. Someone at the motor pool noticed the trailer hadn’t been turned in and made some calls. About 1am a jeep come flying down the trail and woke me up. The driver had a funny grin on his face all he could say was sorry.
